Travelling right
Simply travelling – City Airport Bremen makes it easier for you.
City Airport Bremen is not only the closest airport in Germany to a city centre, but also has another unbeatable advantage:
car parks, meet-and-greet parking, terminals, car hire, tram stop, hotels and catering – everything is just a short walk away. You won’t have to look for anything because you’ll find everything easily. That makes travelling really simple.
Another service that City Airport Bremen offers you is a guide to ‘Simply travelling’.
Since there are some major differences, we offer the guide in two versions. Please select the version that applies to you.
Getting here by taxi or by BSAG bus or tram:
You alight in front of departure terminal E and can walk into the departure hall without getting your feet wet. You are welcome to use the baggage trolleys provided free of charge.
Arrival by Publicexpress/Bus2fly:
You alight in front of departure terminal E and can walk into the departure hall without getting your feet wet. From here it’s only 20 steps until you are sitting in your plane. You are welcome to use the baggage trolleys provided free of charge.
By car:
If you are coming by car, follow the international symbol for the airport from any direction. That way, you’ll automatically arrive at Terminals 1-3. There’s only one decision you need to make:
are you parking your vehicle while away? If so, just follow the parking management system. The two multistorey car parks are side by side.
Are you bringing a passenger to the terminal, or collecting someone?
Drive straight to the front of the terminal. A limited number of short-stay parking places are available (20-minute limit). If you intend to stay longer, please use the multistorey car parks. The multistorey car parks are right opposite Terminal 1-3.
Terminal 1 handles flights of the following airlines: Air Berlin, Air Europa, Air France and Regional, Air Via, Germania, Hamburg International, KLM, Nouvelair Tunise, OLT, Pegasus, Sky, Sun Express, Tuifly, Turkuaz Airlines and XL Airways.
Lufthansa and Tunis Air flights are handled at Terminal 3.
Terminal 2 is the arrival terminal.
The terminals have a very easy-to-follow signage system. In addition to conventional check-in desks, Lufthansa and Air Berlin also offer Quick Check-In terminals without desk assistance.
As soon as you have received your boarding card and your flight has been called, please go your gate via the security check.
Behind the security checkpoint you will find a refreshment bar and duty-free shops. Opening hours are flexible and depend on departure times.
City Airport Bremen wishes you a good flight.

Special aspects to note for flights with Ryanair
If you are flying with Ryanair, you will find that some things are handled rather differently. We have put together a list of things you should note. A more detailed version can be found at thewww.ryanair.de website.
You normally book your travel on the Internet and pay either by credit card or direct debit. Please ensure that you enter your name correct when booking. Do not use nicknames or diminutive forms. If you do not have Internet access, or are not happy about paying by credit card online, the easiest way is to ask friends or relatives to help you book. Booking through travel agencies is not supported by Ryanair.
Confirming bookings
There is some confusion about the term ‘reconfirmation’.
Ryanair recommends that you reconfirm flight details between 24 and 72 hours before departure, especially when you book at very short notice.
This is done very easily on the Internet by clicking on ‘Manage my Booking’. You need to enter your booking confirmation number and credit card number (or the number of the debit card or direct debit details, accordingly). The details then shown on your monitor are the definitive flight details
Important: you do not need to call Ryanair.
Check-in
Important: the check-in desk closes 40 minutes before departure. If you arrive at the check-in desk too late, you have no chance of joining your flight. With this rule, Ryanair is able to ensure that its flights are punctual.
Online Check-in
Online check-in is obligatory at Ryanair. Passengers can check-in online at www.ryanair.de between 14 days and 4 hours before departure. To check in online, you will need a valid ID document or passport containing the same data as those on the online boarding card.
Every passenger is obligated to print out his or her boarding card and to show it at check-in. Anyone with no printed boarding card will have to pay a fee of € 40 per person per flight at the airport.
Please note:
All passengers from states that do not belong to the EU or the European Economic Area, must have their travel documents and online boarding card checked and stamped at the document/visa deck of Ryanair before going through the security check, regardless of the respective visa conditions.
To summarise once more: make sure you have valid documents and your printed boarding card.
Luggage, Priority Boarding
The baggage rules and Priority Boarding, etc. are stated clearly and precisely on the Ryanair website.
Ryanair baggage terms can be found here: Service Tel. 0900-1 16 05 00, 62c/min
A few points are in order:
Checked baggage can be booked online at a later date, or a second baggage item can be booked online.
When packing, please note that you are allowed to take an additional ten kilograms of cabin baggage per person. Only one item of cabin baggage is permitted; please note the maximum dimensions. Be careful about taking liquids such as beverages or creams. EU rules apply. You can buy the sealable plastic bags at the check-in counter in Terminal 1 or from Ryanair in Terminal E.
There has been some annoyance in the past over liquids in cabin baggage. Please note that these rules apply in the whole of Europe and to all airlines.
Validity of travel documents
Every passenger is personally responsible for ensuring that he or she is carrying valid travel documents (photo ID or passport). Please remember that your children also require documents.
Expired ID cards and passports will not be accepted.
Emergency IDs without a photo are also not accepted by Ryanair. The names on the photo ID and the booking must be identical.
Passports for travel outside the EU must be valid for at least six months after the trip begins.
All information is provided without warranty.
