The summer begins in March at the City Airport Bremen – the new summer flight schedule for 2012 will take effect from the coming Sunday (25 March). The range of holiday offers for scheduled, package and low-cost flights from Bremen guarantees even more variety this summer: as many as 50 non-stop destinations in Europe and North Africa with connections throughout the whole world via European hubs await all sun enthusiasts, travel fans and culture connoisseurs in the northwest from 25 March.

Almost 200 flights a week pass through eight European hubs – Munich, Frankfurt, Zurich, Amsterdam, Istanbul, Paris, Brussels and Copenhagen.

The flights on offer from Bremen across the schedule have now increased to 320 a week.

“With Turkish Airlines we have one of Europe’s best airlines and a strong airline partner at the City Airport Bremen. We are delighted that the northwest will now be connected by means of daily flights to Istanbul with the largest city and the cultural and economic centre of Turkey – with the best connections to 190 destinations in 84 countries,” says Jürgen Bula, CEO of Flughafen Bremen. “Our programme also includes the new additions of Thessaloniki, Corfu, Burgas, Malaga, Lodz and Milan-Bergamo, which will guarantee wonderful holidays and which can be reached quickly and comfortably from Bremen. And just in time for the European Championship we are providing all football fans with a fast and cheap connection to Poland, with the new destination Lodz. A super summer flight schedule.”

Weser, Werder, Bosporus: Turkish Airlines to depart daily from Bremen

With over 32 million passengers it is one of the best airlines in Europe and was awarded the accolade of best European airline at the “Skytrax World Airline Awards 2011” – and now Turkish Airlines will depart from Bremen.
Turkish Airlines is a new airline flying to Bremen and from 26 April it will offer the first scheduled flights to and from Istanbul. A special plus: the flight times have been arranged in such a way that all connecting flights to the Middle and Far East can be reached via the Turkish metropolis. Four weekly flights on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays will be followed from 28 May by a daily connection from Bremen to Istanbul, a fascinating and inviting city with its numerous historical treasures, its multifaceted culture and its thriving lifestyle on two continents.

Germanwings with a new comfort size in Bremen

From 15 July 2012 Germanwings will serve the capital of Baden Württemberg up to three times a day, thus connecting Bremen with the tourist transfer opportunities of Germanwings in Stuttgart. In addition, the number of flights with the quiet Airbus A 319 aircraft will be increased by 50 percent. Comfortable new leather seats on board the A 319 will ensure a high degree of comfort. The range of flights will also be expanded: Germanwings shall increase its frequency from Bremen to Stuttgart to 17 times a week from 15 May.

Additional dreams of the sun with Germania

Holiday dreams will come true with the four new sun destinations in Bulgaria, Greece and Spain, offered by the German airline Germania. Flights will leave every Thursday (from 24 May) to Thessaloniki, with around 300,000 inhabitants the second-largest metropolis in Greece and the cultural centre of Macedonia. There are cultural events and festivals in the city all year long. For decades the “green island” has been the classic holiday destination among the Greek islands – flights go to Corfu every Tuesday (from 29 May), lasting little more than two hours. Crete, Kos and Rhodes complete the sun destinations in Greece offered by Germania.

The nearby beaches and over 300 days of sunshine per year, as well as the many cultural sights of Malaga attract numerous holidaymakers. Each Wednesday (from 16 May) Germania will fly to Andalusia’s second-largest city. Burgas, on the schedule every Friday (from 25 May), offers its glorious, fine sandy beaches, which are among the most beautiful in Europe.

In all Germania will fly to 15 sunny destinations from Bremen this summer, including Bremen’s twin city Izmir, Lanzarote, Fuerteventura, Mallorca, Funchal, Antalya and Hurghada.

The northwest in football fever: with Ryanair to the Euros in Poland

The kick-off to the 2012 European Football Championships in Poland and Ukraine on 8 June is only a short hop away with the new connection to Lodz. The Polish city, around 160 kilometres from the capital, Warsaw, is a new addition to our programme from 28 March: on Wednesdays and Saturdays Ryanair takes off from Bremen in the direction of Lodz.

Furthermore, the Irish airline is once again flying to Milan-Bergamo. With the connection to not only one, but two attractive Italian cities – Milan is only 45 kilometres away, and Bergamo only five kilometres – Bremen has contact with the strongest economic region in Italy, with its countless touristic and historical sites. Each Wednesday and Sunday Ryanair flies towards Milan – the economic capital of Italy, the centre of the banking, fashion and trade industry and the heart of Lombardy.

KLM expands in Bremen: offers grow by a third

The Flying Dutchman has conquered the northwest: with KLM four times a day from Bremen to Amsterdam and back. At Amsterdam Schiphol travellers can connect to more than 140 destinations worldwide. Whereas until now there were three flights per day, the traditional Dutch airline is now putting on 28 flights a week. The additional flights, a fourth each day, with the aircraft type Fokker 70, will take off every day from Bremen at 3.30 p.m. and from Amsterdam Schiphol at 1.50 p.m. The flight time is one hour.

The classics: the Balearics and the Turkish Mediterranean coast

Antalya, the “pearl of the Turkish Riviera” and the epitome of holidays, sunshine and beaches, continues to be one of the most popular holiday destinations from Bremen and will be served in the summer flight schedule 27 times a week by Sky Airlines, Air Berlin, Germania, Corendon Airlines, Sun Express, TUIfly and Hamburg Airways. Followed closely by Mallorca – the sunny island offers just about everything that a holidaymaker could ever wish for. Flights go to the largest Balearic island 21 times a week with Ryanair, Air Berlin and Germania.
